Not for Emergencies

If you face a life-threatening emergency, call 000 for an ambulance or go to the nearest hospital emergency room right now.
Emergency Signs
- Trouble breathing or chest pain
- Signs of a stroke or sudden weakness
- Heavy bleeding that will not stop
- Major injuries from an accident
- Sudden severe pain or seizures
- Loss of consciousness or severe allergic reactions
Stay home if you feel unwell, have a fever, cough, or experience difficulty breathing to help prevent the spread of infection. If you cannot leave home when unwell, you can still consult a qualified Australian-registered general practitioner using the National Telemedicine Doctors online platform.
What Is Telehealth?
Telehealth means you, the patient, access clinical services from a qualified doctor using electronic communications and software, without visiting the doctor in person.
Telehealth allows health care professionals to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients without a face-to-face meeting. It is now frequently used for general medical consultations, follow-up visits, management of chronic conditions, medication management, specialist consultations and many other clinical services that can be provided remotely via secure video and audio.
Why People Use It
Telehealth has evolved into a widely accepted mainstream way to access medical and health care. Using this platform, patients can consult an Australian Medical Board-certified doctor or GP from the comfort of home or office.
A face-to-face consultation with your regular GP is ideal, however a consultation with National Telemedicine Doctors is an effective and convenient alternative when an in-person consultation is not possible. During your consultation, your doctor will advise if an in-person medical visit is required.
Benefits
An online consultation with National Telemedicine Doctors as an alternative to a face-to-face visit with a doctor has many benefits, including:
No appointment needed

Less interference with child or other carer responsibilities
Privacy
No exposure to other patients who may have contagious illnesses
Prevention of the possible spread of coronavirus that may endanger people who are vulnerable, aged, or have pre-existing health conditions
Less waiting time to get a consultation if there is a long waiting time to see your usual doctor face-to-face.

What Is Bulk Billing?
Bulk billing means you do not have to pay for your medical service from a health practitioner. Instead of charging you directly, the health professional bills Medicare and accepts the Medicare benefit as full payment for the service.
